I feel sorrow at the increasing loss of our planet's beautiful flora and fauna due to the collapse of natural environments and unfettered human destructiveness.  Who/what can save us from ourselves?  Religions have, in the past, asked for sacrifice to ensure a better future.  Can we sacrifice our love of gain?   Can we create a new global belief system by amalgamating existing mythologies, until now marooned in geography, with 21st century psychology.  Mythological figures are now disguised as citizens.

The origins of art and religion were entangled.  With which gods is art now entangled?  Ancient gods have been hybrids,  joining human-supernatural-animals-natural phenomena;  qualities such as love and power were transferred  between the parts.  Science has replaced religion in ensuring our future, but the etymology of religion means "to re-join (ligate) to the centre".  What is our present centre to which we must be rejoined?

Nature has exuded creativity, and gives form to the process of new life being made through the joining of opposites;  in human life, at least as far as the poets have it, love initiates this joining.   However, nature can now be designed by us, and manufactured along geometric lines, carrying its own lights, as the deep sea creatures do.
